Grant Elementary dads, uncles, grandfathers, cousins, grown brothers – you all are welcome to join us as Watch DOGS, whether for part of one day this year, once a month or once each week. We need YOU! All men interested in participating please refer to the schedule shared on this page. We have been asked specifically to volunteer within these times. If you are not able to come during your child’s class time as listed, please email your child’s teacher and arrange a time with her that will work for both parties (email addresses are listed below). If you’ve already been helping at the school, THANK YOU. Your presence is much needed and every minute you give is appreciated.
What is expected or hoped from a Watch DOGS? Be present! Spend time with us! There is particular need of help in drop-off and pick-up zones before and after school. Recess is a great time to interact with the children. Our “specials” (library, PE, and computers) offer great opportunities to see your child and his or her peers in action. Your child’s teacher may want help in class or with prep of materials and will give you instructions on what she needs you to do.
When you arrive at Grant as a WD, check in with the front office. Ms. Angie, school secretary, is our main contact and can direct you how to sign in (and out), which badge to wear, and where to go for your time there. It is vital to check in! School staff need to know who we are and why we are there in order to support us.
Occasionally there are specific events or days where Watch DOGS men are needed. If we know of such a need coming up it will be posted on this page. So please check back often, and send us an email if you have questions, concerns, or want more information.
Please note: This is a new email address. We will check regularly for messages and respond as promptly as possible. Thank you for your time and interest.
