August Newsletter

August, 2017

To the Families of Grant Elementary,

Welcome Back! We are excited for this brand new school year. We are excited to bring you the first of a new monthly newsletter from yours truly, your school psychologist! We want to let you know each month what skills we are learning and practicing at school.

Character Education will be ongoing and delivered to the whole school at our Bulldog Rally. We are excited to have everyone together as we learn about these important life skills.

We will have a theme each month. September’s theme will be Bullying. We want to help students identify bullying, avoid bullying behaviors, and give them a toolbox of skills to use if they see or experience bullying.

For August, we would like to give parents resources to help with the transition back to school. The website understood.org provides ideas, tips, and electronic resources that address a wide range of topics. While the website says it’s for students with “learning & attention issues,” they have a wide range of topics including time management, making friends, handling frustration, and many more.

As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. We are looking forward to a fantastic year at Grant Elementary!

Kind Regards,

Ms. Shelly
